Why Years 6 and 7?
The move from primary to high school is a big one. In primary school, teachers and parents keep a close eye on students, their environments and what they eat. For students managing allergies, the shift to high school independence can feel overwhelming, often leaving them to advocate for themselves in situations where not everyone understands the stakes.
The Mystery of School Island is designed to change that. When the whole class understands allergy risks, safety becomes a shared responsibility.

Not just for people with allergies
When everyone understands food allergy, safety becomes a shared responsibility. Rather than placing the burden on the student at risk, The Mystery of School Island builds a culture of shared awareness. Students learn that being allergy-aware isn't someone else's problem, it's part of looking out for each other and creating a safer, more inclusive community.
